Jose Riveiro Departs While Nasreddine Nabi Remains: Understanding The Decision

Its difficult to say how a Kaizer Chiefs fan would have reacted to the news on Thursday that Jose Riveiro will be stepping down as Orlando Pirates coach.

The immediate reaction would be shock, as Pirates are second in the Betway Premiership , and with their four games in hand, they have a real chance of hauling in table-topping Mamelodi Sundowns .

Riveiros contract was up at the end of the season, and he chose not to renew despite having led the side to two second-place finishes in the Betway Premiership and five cup titles two Nedbank Cups and three MTN8 titles.

Late last month, Riveiro actually hinted that he may be leaving his post when he spoke on the Bucs Camp series.
