Arsena l Womens head coach J onas Eidevall has resigned following a difficult start to the 2024-25 Womens Super League WSL season. The team has managed only one win in their first four matches and currently sits sixth in the league standings.

Assistant coach Renee Slegers will step in as interim head coach.

We want to thank Jonas for his commitment to the club and his achievements since joining in 2021, said sporting director Edu. We respect the dedication he brought to our women's first team and appreciate his role in the growth and development of Arsenal Women.

Eidevall signed a three-year contract extension last October after leading the team to consecutive top-three WSL finishes and winning the Womens League Cup in the last two seasons. However, Arsenal has struggled recently, going winless in their last three matches with one draw and two defeats.

The team suffered a heavy 5-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, followed by a 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea just days later.
