Jolly Joburg Super Kings Slay Durban's Super Giants

Tabraiz Shamsi, Donovan Ferreira and Imran Tahir spun Joburg Super Kings to a 28-run SA20 victory over the Durbans Super Giants at Kingsmead in Durban on Tuesday evening.

The trio had all the time in the world to closely watch Durban spinners Keshav Maharaj, Prenelan Subrayen and Noor Ahmad operate against the Joburg batting line-up in the first innings.

The visiting trio were then able to formulate a plan, having watched Maharaj 2/28, Subrayen 2/24 and Ahmad 0/29 take four of the seven Super Kings wickets as the visitors set the hosts a 170-run target to win the match.

It was that advantage that eventually gave the Super Kings the upper hand as Shamsi, Ferreira and Tahir rocked up with better plans and execution to help the visitors successfully defend 169 away from home in their second fixture of the tournament.

Tahir 1/29 was the first to inflict some damage, doing so with a vintage wrong un against West Indies International Brandon King 17, who was left frustrated by the sound and sight of the rattled stumps behind him.
