Johannesburg Parents Asked To Verify Scholar Transport Operators

The Greater Johannesburg Learner Transport Organisation has urged parents and guardians, to verify the authenticity of their childrens scholar transport operators, before allowing them to use the transport.

This as learners prepare to start the new school year on Wednesday.

Parents and guardians have complained about the poor state of some of the vehicles, reckless driving by operators including some driving under the influence of substances and playing loud music.

General Secretary of the Greater Johannesburg Learner Transport Organisation Sibongile Maseko says, What parents look for is cheap transport and what we do is that we always post on TikTok thats where parents tell us about their challenges on social media and we deal with their challenges even in their office. Number one cars should have stickers and an association sticker. There must be regional stickers and two discs in a car. So, parents should look for that, if the car doesnt have a sticker, then we dont know that driver as an organisation.
