A permanent exhibition that uses images from the Jagersfontein tragedy has opened at the University of Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein.

Co-curator, Lenosa Mahapang says the collection took three months to put together.

She says they wanted to use art as a form of telling the story, to give a voice to the residents of Jagersfontein.

The artworks that you see here, or pictures that you see here are all 100 percent owned by the community of Jagersfontein. We just went through the community, waking anyone who has pictures through word of mouth to tell others there are people here who want to gather pictures for an exhibition on September 9. So thats just how we went about it."
