As the Olympics begin today in Paris, South Africa will be represented by four additional sporting codes this year.
These are badminton, canoeing, fencing and wrestling.
Thus, the number of sporting codes South Africa will partake in this year will be 20.
Although they had qualified for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, the South African women's Rugby Sevens team will make their Olympic debut this year.
