South African motorists will be expected to pay more for both diesel and petrol as of Wednesday, 6 November 2024, Cape town Etc reports.
The Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources announced the adjustment of fuel prices on Monday, 4 November.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy stated that the main reasons for the fuel price adjustments include crude oil prices as a consequence of the conflict in the Middle East and an increase in the international petroleum product prices.
Another factor which contributes to adjusted fuel prices is the rand-to-dollar exchange rate, though in this case, the South African rand slightly appreciated against the dollar within the period of time under review by the department.
As such, the fuel prices for November 2024 will be adjusted as follows
