Cameroonian striker Bryan Mbeumo says he is putting demands on his own performances ahead of the start of the 2024-25 Premier League season.
Mbeumo was on the score sheet for Brentford in their 4-4 draw against VfL Wolfsburg on Friday, the Bees last preseason friendly before their season-opening clash at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday 18 August.
Mbeumo, who has netted nine goals in each of the last two Premier League seasons, was happy to score against Wolfsburg and says he is looking to move up a level in the new campaign.
We scored four goals and created very good chances, said the 25-year-old, who has 16 caps for Cameroon to his name.
We need to focus on the defensive side, especially the set-pieces, before next week.
