Ibiza's authorities have revealed a limit on cruise ship arrivals at the popular tourist destination.
The Council of Mayors announced that no more than two cruise ships are to be allowed to dock in Ibiza at the same time, to space out visitor arrivals and relieve the pressure on the island's infrastructure.
When the arrival of more than two cruises occurs simultaneously, the port and transport services collapse, which generates a problem in Ibiza town, said Vicent Mari Torres , the President of Ibiza's Council.
We are not against the arrival of cruises but we ask that it occurs in a more orderly and planned way.
Last year, Ibiza, which has only 159 180 residents, received a record 548 969 cruise passenger visitors.
