I Was Never In A Love Relationship With Judge Mbenenge: Mengo

Judges Secretary, Andiswa Mengo, has testified that she was not in a romantic relationship with Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge nor did she ever consent to the alleged conduct by the top Judge.

Mengo has accused the Judge of sexual harassment between June 2021 and November 2022 in the form of in-person interaction and electronic communication.

She wrapped up her evidence in chief this morning with her counsel Advocate Nasreen Rajab-Budlender SC taking a moment to clarify some questions with Mengo prior to the commencement of cross-examination at the Judicial Conduct Tribunal Hearing in Johannesburg.

Rajab-Budlender: Did you at any point consent to receiving sexual messages from the Judge President?

Mengo: No, I never consented.
