Human Negligence Is The Primary Cause Of Road Crashes Kzn Rti

Amid growing concerns over road fatalities this festive season, the KwaZulu-Natal KZN Road Traffic Inspectorate has highlighted human negligence as the leading cause of road crashes.

Traffic volumes in KZN have surged as people travel to various holiday destinations ahead of Christmas. The N3 Toll Concession reported that traffic at the Tugela Toll Plaza increased to nearly 1,400 vehicles per hour, while Mooi River saw just over 1,100 vehicles.

At the Marianhill Toll Plaza, traffic was bumper-to-bumper in both directions as holidaymakers made their way to their destinations. Authorities anticipate further increases in traffic volume, especially as this is the last weekend before Christmas.

The N3 Toll Concession also noted that traffic volumes peaked at over 1,500 vehicles per hour over the past week. Motorists have been urged to exercise patience due to ongoing roadworks on the N3.
