How Psl Table Looks Now After Royal Am Exit: Pirates Close In On Sundowns

how psl table looks now after royal am exit pirates close in on sundowns

Orlando Pirates have benefitted from Royal AMs expulsion from the Premier Soccer League PSL, as their gap from Mamelodi Sundowns is now down to nine points from the previous 12.

This means that if they win their two games in hand, they will cut the lead further to just three points - with six matches left in the season.

The PSLs Board of Governors approved the Executive Committees recommendation to end Royal AMs membership on Thursday 10 April.

This after Thwihli Thwahla were unable to honour their fixtures after being placed under curatorship.

The South African Revenue Service SARS is seeking to auction the club to recover alleged tax debt allegedly owed by the clubs previous owner, entrepreneur and reality star Shauwn MaMkhize Mkhize, and others.

Permutations after Royal AM PSL expulsion

Royal AM have only played 11 matches in the Betway Premiership this season. Their expulsion now means these games fall away and their results no longer count in the PSL log .

Consequently, teams that won points against the KwaZulu-Natal-based side lose those points. For instance, a team that won against AM loses three points, and those that drew against it lose one point each.

The only team that lost to AM, Sekhukhune United, is not affected. Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, Chippa United and Marumo Gallants did not play AM and are therefore not affected as well.

Cape Town City FC, SuperSport United, Richards Bay, Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs drew and thus lose one point each.

Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City, Golden Arrows, AmaZulu and TS Galaxy picked up wins versus AM and thus lose three points each.
