RoomRaccoon, a hotel management system, analysed reservation data from over 4 500 rooms in boutique hotels, B Bs and guest houses nationwide, revealing that rates for the Women's Day long weekend in August were 40% higher than average winter season prices.
The average daily rate (ADR) during the long weekend from August 8-12 this year increased to R1810 (92) with a peak of R2070 (105) on the Friday, August 9. In contrast, the winter average from June 1 to August 12 was R1287 (65) while the year-to-date average stands at R1991 (101).
