Honda Recalls Three Of Its Civic Models In Sa Due To Steering Issues

Honda has recalled three of its Civic models in South Africa, while two Ineos Grenadier models must also be recalled, the National Consumer Commission NCC said on Friday, Cape town Etc reports.
Honda Civic four-door, Civic TYPE R five-door, and CR-V five-door models sold from 2023 to 2025 have been recalled due to a problem with their steering gearboxes.
Previously, Honda had to recall 1.7 million Civic cars due to an improperly produced steering gearbox worm wheel. This is according to documents released by the US government agency for motor vehicle safety last year.
The fault means theres increased friction, which could make it more difficult to steer.
The gearbox could cause abnormal noises or dangerous sticking when turning the steering, the commission said.
