Higham Appointed As New Mayoral Committee Member

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has announced the appointment of Councillor Francine Higham as the City's new mayoral committee member MCM for Community Services and Health, Cape town Etc reports.

Higham, who has served as the Councillor for Ward 77 since 2021, will take on the critical portfolio overseeing community services, health initiatives and social development in the city.

Mayor Hill-Lewis praised Higham's extensive background in both public service and the private sector, highlighting her dedication to improving the lives of Capetonians.

Councillor Higham has been at the forefront of our efforts to expand the Safe Space shelter in the CBD, helping more people off the streets by offering social development interventions and dignified transitional shelter, Hill-Lewis said.
