The Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Mother and Child hospitals are experiencing water supply challenges.
This is due to the installation of a valve at the Crosby Pump station which is affecting the two healthcare facilities and surrounding areas.
The Gauteng Health Department says the hospitals emergency department, ICU and various wards have been affected.
However water tankers have been dispatched. The Departments Motalatale Modiba says the Jubilee hospital in Tshwane which has been without water for weeks - has had its water restored.
As part of addressing elective procedures that were deferred, a rebooking system will be implemented for patients scheduled for minor operations. In addition, theatre operating hours will be extended as part of a recovery strategy.
