Heatwave Alert Issued For Gauteng Residents
Gauteng residents are set to endure another day of soaring temperatures as a heatwave grips the region.
The South African Weather Service has issued a heatwave alert for the week, with temperatures expected to exceed 37 degrees across much of the country.
The persistent heat poses a heightened risk of heat-related illnesses.
SABC meteorologist Azwi Tuwani warned residents to prepare for the extreme conditions.
"We are still seeing those conditions sitting over the northern part of South Africa. This includes North West, Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo. It is a heatwave with temperatures extremely high in most areas, so please do take precautions and prepare for the day accordingly. Remain in ventilated areas, and drink lots of water," Tuwani advises.
