Parliaments Police Portfolio Committee has expressed concern about the appointment of Major General Patrick Mbotho, as a Divisional Commissioner in the Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation.
The committee says that around 2017, Mbotho acknowledged that he had distributed pornographic content from his official cellphone, on a Detectives Commanders WhatsApp group.
SAPS Portfolio Committee Chair Ian Cameron says at the time Mbotho was the head of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
