Hands Off Mkhwanazi March Cancelled

The march in support of KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi , has been cancelled.

The Hands off Mkhwanazi march was supposed to take place in Durban this morning.

Scores of people including those from civil society groups, businesses and various unions, were expected to participate in the planned march.

This as the Independent Police Investigative Directorate IPID investigates allegations from an anonymous complainant that Mkhwanazi interfered with investigations against an official at a prison facility in the province.

Organisers have not given reasons for the cancellation of the march.
