Neymar has been sidelined for four to six weeks after medical examinations showed he has a hamstring tear, according to his club Al Hilal on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old played only 26 minutes as a substitute in the second half before he left the field with a noticeable right hamstring injury during Mondays 3-0 win over Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League Elite.
After transferring to Saudi Arabia from Paris Saint-Germain in a high-profile deal in 2023 , Neymar had been out for over a year before returning last month due to right knee surgery.
Earlier this week, Al Hilals coach, Jorge Jesus , said Neymar would be unavailable for at least two weeks of training due to this new injury.
Al Hilal announced on its social media channels that his treatment and rehabilitation process will span from four to six weeks.
