Hamiltons Ferrari Debut Falls Flat With 8th Place Qualifying

The much anticipated first official appearance of seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari, was a rude awakening for Britain. He could only qualify eighth fastest for Sundays opening Formula One Grand Prix of the season in Melbourne, Australia.

Hamilton was well off the pace, almost a second slower than the McLaren of Lando Norris.

Norris will share the front row of the grid with teammate Oscar Piastri, while reigning world champion Max Verstappen in a Red Bull and Mercedes George Russels, were third and fourth fastest.

Yuki Tsunoda and Alexander Albon make up the third row of the grid, with the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Hamilton behind them.
