Guardiola: Fa Cup Won't Fix Man City's Struggling Season

Pep Guardiola has clarified that winning the FA Cup will not be enough to redeem Manchester Citys underwhelming season, despite reaching the final on the same day Liverpool ended their reign as Premier League champions.
City, who had dominated English football for the past four years, were knocked off their perch by Liverpool's dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham, which sealed the Reds 20th league title.
This was a significant milestone for Liverpool, who equalled Manchester United's record for most top-flight titles, while City's form this season has left them 21 points adrift of the new champions.
Guardiolas men did, however, secure a place in the FA Cup final with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Wembley, thanks to goals from Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol. This victory confirmed City's third consecutive FA Cup final appearance, where they will face Crystal Palace on May 17.
While City remain on course to secure a Champions League spot with a top-five finish in the Premier League, Guardiola was clear about his dissatisfaction with the season's overall performance.
