Graphic Content Mchunu Condemns Umzinto Woman's Murder
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has condemned the murder of a 25-year-old woman, whose body was found in the middle of the road with several stab wounds at Umzinto on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, yesterday.
Following the incident, police have confirmed that the body of a man believed to be her partner was found hanging off a tree in the same area.
He confessed to killing his girlfriend in a social media video.
In a statement, Mchunu described the incident as shocking and an appalling act of gender-based violence.
Police Ministry Spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi says, "The use of social media to amplify such cruelty is utterly unacceptable and reflects a disregard for basic decency and the dignity of others."
