Grammys: Jay-z Breaks Tie With Kanye West, Becomes Most-awarded Rapper

Sean Carter, aka Jay-Z, has become the most-awarded rapper in Grammy history.

The New York legend hit the milestone at the 67th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, after winning his 25th award, breaking a tie with Kanye West 24.

Jay-Z won a Grammy award for his contribution to Beyonces Cowboy Carter, which took home the Album of the Year gramophone.

According to Grammys rules, all major contributors to a project are credited as winners in the Album of the Year category.

The win is Beyonces first-ever win for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
