Gqeberha Hosts Ironman African Championships

The 20th edition of the IRONMAN African Championships will take place in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, tomorrow, with a prize pool exceeding R3 million.

More than 2 000 athletes, including 80 professionals, are set to compete in the challenging endurance event featuring swimming, cycling, and running.

Defending champions Marta Sanchez and Rasmus Svenningsson are eager to defend their titles.

Im really happy to be back. This race brings great memories, and I hope everything comes together for a good day, says Sanchez.

Svenningsson echoed the excitement: Im feeling strong, but it will be a tough challenge. Ill give my best to keep the title.
