Gqeberha Activist Pamela Mabini Laid To Rest Following Fatal Shooting

Friends and family have described the late Gqeberha-based gender rights activist, Pamela Mabini, as a selfless individual with love and deep passion for charity work. Mabinis funeral is currently underway at Feather Market Hall in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

Hundreds of friends, family and community members have gathered to pay their last respects to her. The 46-year-old, was gunned down outside of her home last week.

Mabinis cousin and family spokesperson, Luzuko Gaxamba, described Mabini as someone who would give the shoe off their foot.

Pams role was larger than life she was a very instrumental and a source of living within the family, but not only to the family but to the broader society. One of her words, if I may quote is not verbatim, but she once said when shes gone she wants to be remembered as a person who was always willing to be available to assist those who are in need.

Mabinis close friends echo these sentiments, saying they are truly inspired by the life she lived. Close friends, Penny Lebyane and Kholile Ndzo, say they hope Mabinis legacy will live on.
