Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique has released a captivating video featuring the countrys youngest qualified female guide.
Gorongosa A Journey of Transformation Tourism shares 23-year-old Dadiva David Salomao s perspectives on the landscapes and biodiversity of Gorongosa, highlighting conservation efforts that have revitalised the park since the countrys civil war.
Through Salomaos eyes, viewers will see the parks transformation over the past two decades from a ravaged ecosystem to a vibrant haven for wildlife and a thriving hub for community development.
Salomao closes the film with an impactful quote I know people can go on holiday anywhere in the world but, here in Gorongosa, we are using tourism to try change the world. So come and see us. It might just change your life too.
The park has been restored through an ongoing partnership signed in 2008 between Mozambiques government and the Carr Foundation. The partnership resulted in restoration of habitats and wildlife, construction of tourism facilities and creation of multiple job opportunities and community development projects.
