African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has paid tribute to former Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.
Gordhan died in hospital this morning following a short battle with cancer.
Mbalula says Gordhan was a man of integrity.
"In government, he became an activist, a champion of anti-graft and corruption. And when time called upon a person to take a stand, Pravin Gordhan was one such. You knew where you stood with him. He was no fake, no plastic. Pravin Gordhan was not a pushover, one thing for sure. I worked with him as a colleague in Cabinet. He was an intellectual. He was not swayed by what was said around him and very firm in his beliefs."
