A routine welfare call turned tragic for an animal welfare inspector dispatched to a property in Blue Downs, where an abandoned Rottweiler, named Beast, was found in appalling conditions, barely clinging to life, reports Cape town Etc .
The dog, left to suffer in an enclosed alleyway, had been severely neglected, and his story has stirred an outcry among animal advocates and authorities alike.
Inspector Sivuyle Kilwa arrived on Saturday, 9 November, responding to an owners request to remove Beast. The owner reportedly described the dog as too old and lazy to be of any use. However, upon arrival, Inspector Kilwa found the owner absent and was instead escorted to the area by a relative.
In a narrow alleyway, Beast was discovered lying in his own waste, his frail body riddled with maggots. The inspector immediately tended to Beast's needs, doing all he could to comfort the suffering dog.
