Glu Formation On The Cards For Nelson Mandela Bay

Negotiations are under way for the formation of a Government of Local Unity GLU in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

Speculation is rife that the African National Congress ANC and the Democratic Alliance DA will be leading the new Government of Local Unity, with t he final round of discussions set for Monday.

The change of governance in the municipality topped the ANCs Provincial Executive Committee agenda meeting.

It will also see the current Mayor Gary Van Niekerk from the National Alliance being replaced.

ANC provincial secretary Lulama Ngukaitobi says its a matter of days before a new mayor is elected.
