Get Ready To Rock: Goo Goo Dolls Add Second Show Date For Cape Town
Not only are the Goo Goo Dolls back in action after lead singer John Rzeznik was hospitalised at the start of December due to pneumonia, but they have also added a second Cape Town performance to their rescheduled South African tour this March!
The highly anticipated one-off show , which came after the release of their most recent album, Chaos In Bloom , and comes after nearly four decades of success and a massive US tour, was initially scheduled to take place on 4 December 2024.
With special guest Just Jinjer as the official supporting act of the night, the Goo Goo Dolls are now set to rock the stage at the picturesque Kirstenbosch Gardens , as part of the 32nd season of the much-loved annual Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert series, on Tuesday, 25 March, AND Wednesday, 26 March 2025.
Were excited to finally be playing our own shows in South Africa, says lead bassist and vocalist Robby Takac. The last time we were in SA was in 2003. We played a supporting act alongside Peter Gabriel and Annie Lennox of Eurythmics. It was a brilliant experience, but this time we get to play a longer set thats just our own.
Takac jokingly added that its difficult to travel all that way just to play for 45 minutes.
