Gavi Signs Contract Extension With Barcelona Until 2030

Spanish midfielder Pablo Paez Gavira, widely known as Gavi, has signed a contract extension with Barcelona, keeping him at the club until June 2030, the club confirmed on Friday.

The 20-year-old, who has been with Barcelona for a decade, expressed his joy at continuing with the club, saying, Im very happy to continue with the club of my life, and I hope that we will give you a lot of joy this season, via social media.

Gavi made his first-team debut for Barcelona in August 2021 at just 17 years old. Despite his youth, he has already earned 27 caps for Spain. However, his career took a brief setback in November 2023 when he suffered a severe knee injury while playing for his national team, forcing him to miss Spains Euro 2024 victory.

Barcelona praised Gavi for his exceptional skills and work ethic, highlighting his character, drive, technical abilities, defensive awareness, and knack for scoring goals. He has scored nine goals for Barcelona since making his debut.

Although Gavi has faced significant challenges, including a torn anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus damage that sidelined him for almost a year, his resilience and commitment have earned him this contract renewal. Barcelona expressed that Gavis new deal gives the story the ending it deserves.
