Gauteng Traffic To Heighten Operations Ahead Of Easter Long Weekend

Gauteng traffic authorities say law enforcement operations will be heightened across the province from today ahead of the Easter long weekend .

This as the Easter season is characterised by high traffic volumes, with motorists driving to various holiday destinations.

Traffic officers will conduct roadblocks on key roads to address speeding, drinking and driving as well as reckless and negligent driving, to ensure the safety of all road users.

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane says law enforcement officers will also be deployed to crime hotspots.

Maremane has advised motorists to stay alert and not to drink and drive.
