Gauteng Da Denies Witch-hunt Claims Against Lesufi

The Democratic Alliance DA in Gauteng denies that it is on a witch-hunt to catch Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi in wrongdoing.

Relying on an affidavit on a matter that was before the High Court in Johannesburg, the party alleges Lesufi contravened the Executive Members Ethics Act.

Leader of the DA caucus at the Legislature, Solly Msimanga, says the party would still pursue any allegations of wrongdoing even if it was part of the Government of Provincial Unity GPU.

The DA in the Gauteng Legislature has written to the Public Protector to investigate Premier Lesufis alleged Contravention of the Members Ethics Act.

Relying on an affidavit deposed by a former Provincial Legislature secretary alleging that Lesufi failed to separate powers between the legislature and the party.
