Despite conceding a controversial goal, United fought back and claimed the win, while Brentford now sit 12th in the table with 10 points.
In the first half, United had to play with ten men after Matthijs de Ligt was temporarily removed to address a head injury, allowing Brentford to score from a corner through Ethan Pinnock.
However, United responded strongly in the second half, with Garnacho capitalising on a cross from Marcus Rashford to equalise in the 47th minute.
