Have elections hampered tourism? Last week, Tourism Update reported that South Africas international arrivals this year were dampened by, among other factors, national elections in many of the countrys top source markets.
More than 100 countries including the UK, US and Brazil went to the polls this year, which potentially sowed reluctance to travel in these markets.
- 42 said the summit will catalyse long-term growth of the MICE sector beyond the event
- 33 said the event will not catalyse long-term growth
- the remainder are unsure.
