Funeral Service Of Gunned Down Wsu Student Today

The Walter Sisulu University WSU student who was gunned down during a protest three days ago will be buried this morning in his home village of Masakala outside Matatiele in the Eastern Cape.

Sisonke Mbolekwas killing has sparked a debate about the safety of students at institutions of higher learning.

Two other students were critically wounded. The suspect is the universitys residence manager. Mourners have converged on Mbolekwas home.

Academics, politicians, fellow students, human rights activists and villagers will converge here to bid farewell to Mbolekwa.

This third year Bachelor of Education student lost his life during a protest at Walter Sisulu University.
