The funeral service of the 18-year-old high school pupi l Reza Saloojee, whose body was retrieved from the Vaal Dam in Gauteng will take place today.
Saloojee, who was head boy at Greenside High in Johannesburg went missing on Sunday afternoon while on a family fishing trip.
Some of his belongings had apparently fell into the dam, not far from the Vaal Marina and he allegedly went in the water to retrieve them.
Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza says police divers found his body in the dam after three-days of searching.
The search team consisted of water police and diving services from Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, Tshwane and Sedibeng. Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng K-9 units were also assisting with search. The diving started at 8:00am daily and finished at 18:00 hours. The team was under the leadership of warrant officer CR Swanepoel from Ekurhuleni divers .
