Only 36% of respondents understand the agreements potential benefits for tourism 64% dont.
The AfCFTA Secretariat has intensified focus on supporting the tourism and cultural industries, which are among the five priority services sectors included in the protocols of the agreement.
Ratified by 47 of the African Unions 54 member states, the AfCFTA agreement aims to facilitate movement of goods and people between countries. The initiative has been cited as a key mechanism for expanding intra-Africa tourism with further potential to increase pan-African promotion of the continents multifarious offerings.
