Free State Residents Advised To Stay Hydrated Amid Heatwave

Free State residents are advised to stay hydrated as the province is experiencing heatwave conditions that will continue until Wednesday.

South African Weather Service SAWS meteorologist Axinia Sethabela says the high temperatures will affect most parts of the province.

Sethabela has appealed to residents to use shaded areas to stay cool.

Heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the North West, Free State and the Eastern part of the Northern Cape today until next week Wednesday.

This is expected to persist over the Northern parts of Northern Cape, North West and Central Eastern parts of Free State until Saturday. Next week we are still expecting isolated showers throughout the whole week over the Free State, Northern Cape and the North West. These are typical summer conditions as compared to the past, she adds Sethabela.
