The case against the former Chief Financial Officer of the Sekhukhune District Municipality in Limpopo and four co-accused has been postponed in the Special Commercial Crimes Court in Polokwane.
Charles Malema allegedly conspired with the co-accused and made a payment of R5.4 million to people who never rendered services to the municipality.
They are facing fraud and money laundering charges amounting to over R5 million. Magistrate Tom Kganyago postponed the matter for a plea and pre-trial hearing.
The matter against you is remanded until the 4th day of November 2024 to enable accused number five and six legal representative section 105 capital A plea and sentence agreement or proposal to the state and also for the outcome of the pre-sentence proposal as well as pre-trial hearing.
Meanwhile, the court heard that accused number five, Sivhadana Murovhi is intending to plead guilty in the matter. His lawyer, Ntsako Tlakula made an application for his client to enter into a plea agreement with the state.
