Four Learners Die In N12 Accident

Four scholars have died after two vehicles crashed on N12 westbound just before the Putfontein road off-ramp outside Daveyton on Gautengs East Rand.

Motorists are advised to use alternative roads at the N12 westbound is still closed.

City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services spokesperson William Ntladi says rescue teams are currently busy with the rescue and recovery of the trapped individuals in the two vehicles .

"One adult female patient is being rescued from the wreck by the usage of hydraulic rescue equipment known to be jaws of life. She is in a stable condition though critical, and she will be flown away from the scene to the nearest medical facility. Currently, the freeway is still closed for traffic. All three lanes are closed for traffic till further notice.
