Former Apartheid Cop Back In Court In January 2025 On Murder Charges
A former Security Branch Unit officer will be back in the High Court in Pretoria sitting in Benoni in eastern Johannesburg on January the 27th next year.
Johan Marais appeared in court yesterday and he pleaded guilty to the murder of a member of students organisation Congress of South African Students Cosas, Caiphus Nyoka.
Marais and other members of the Security Branch shot Nyoka nine times at his home in eastern Johannesburg in August 1987.
Sixty five-year-old Marais is out on R5000 bail.
The trial of Marais three co-accused will resume on Monday next week.
