Former Ajax Amsterdam Star Thulani Serero Nears Sensational Psl Return

After 14 years playing abroad in Europe and Asia, former Bafana Bafana attacking midfielder Thulani Serero could complete a move that will see him playing in South Africa's Premier Soccer League again.

According to reports, Serero has been spotted in the Mother City, where he has been training with Cape Town City . Online publication Soccer Laduma report that the club are pushing hard to complete a deal that would make the 34-year-old the club's highest earner.

Before moving abroad, a young Serero terrorised defenders in South Africa's top-flight. During the 2010/11 campaign, he played a key role in Ajax Cape Town's unlikely title challenge that fell agonisingly short at the last hurdle. He walked away with the Footballer of the Year, PSL Player of the Season, PSL Players Player of the Season, and ABSA Premiership Red Hot Young Player awards that season.

His form saw him make the move to Europe with Ajax Amsterdam, where he thrived as Christian Eriksen's replacement, who had just signed for Tottenham Hotspur.

In 2013, he famously scored the opening goal as Ajax beat a Barcelona side featuring the likes of Lionel Messi , Andres Iniesta and Xavi 2-1 in the Champions League . He won three league titles in the Netherlands.
