Five Men Shot And Set Alight Inside Car In Philippi East

Crime scene experts with the Provincial Serious Violent Crime Investigators are still combing a crime scene in Philippi East where five males were shot and set alight in a vehicle on Friday evening.

This is according to police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa, who said reports from the scene indicate that the deceased were in a vehicle in the Better Life area when four armed suspects approached them.

The suspects robbed and shot the occupants of the vehicle and subsequently set them alight.

The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be determined, with investigators hard at work collecting evidence, said Potelwa.

The ages of the deceased persons are estimated to be between 20 and 30.
