Five Life Sentences Handed Down In Bloem Court To Serial Rapist

A 39-year-old man has been sentenced to five life sentences by the Bloemfontein Regional Court in the Free State. He was found guilty of five counts of rape dating back to 2019.

Police Spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli says Anthony Trevor Watson's modus operandi involved meeting his victims under various pretenses and then raping them.

In 2019, Watson met a 14-year-old girl, took her to his residence where he smoked dagga with her and subsequently raped her.

In another incident, he met a 46-year-old victim at a drug house, provided her with suspected drugs and raped her.

Kareli says all the victims were raped after taking drugs.
