A fire has caused significant damage at the Manyane Game Reserve near Mahikeng in the North West. The blaze, which broke out this afternoon, is still under investigation to determine its cause.
The resort, which was in the process of being renovated, has been affected. The renovation project, which began in 2016, was mired in controversy last year when it was revealed that R71 million had already been spent, yet the project remained incomplete.
One of the resort workers expressed their distress, stating that they saw the fire after lunch and are now worried about the possibility of losing their jobs due to the damage.
