Fecafoot Directs Elite Clubs To Select Home Venues Amid Infrastructure Challenges

The Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT has issued a directive requiring clubs in the MTN Elite One and Two clubs to identify their home match venues by January 14, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.

This announcement comes after ongoing difficulties between FECAFOOT and the National Office of Infrastructure and Sports Equipment ONIES regarding stadium rental agreements, which have hindered the smooth operation of the leagues.

The recent communication from FECAFOOT, delivered by Secretary General Isaac Mandong, reflects a growing frustration within the federation over its inability to secure suitable stadiums for league matches.

The federation has faced challenges in negotiating reasonable terms with ONIES, which has resulted in exorbitant rental fees, that they find unsustainable.

During a general assembly held prior to this directive, President Samuel Etoo had expressed optimism about securing quality pitches for teams. However, with the season already underwaysix match days completed in Elite One and four in Elite Twoclubs are now unexpectedly tasked with finding their own venues.
