Expropriation Act A Step In The Right Direction To Restore Dignity
President of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania PAC and Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development, Mzwanele Nyhontso says the recently signed Expropriation Act is a step in the right direction in governments efforts to restore the dignity of landless black people.
He was speaking to the SABC on the sidelines of his partys three day National Executive Committee meeting which started in Johannesburg on Friday.
The Act paves the way for the expropriation of land in the public interest for various reasons.
Expropriation Act PAC welcomes newly enacted legislation:It was passed by the National Assembly in 2022 and was sent to the National Council of Provinces NCOP for concurrence.
Nyhontso says this is a step in the right direction, We welcome the Bill and the Bill is therefore repealing the apartheid Expropriation Bill of 1975. But it must also be noted that this Bill is the Bill from Public Works.
