exclusive lionesses derby to end cameroons long sabbatical next month

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will end their over one year run without a camp or any football game with a friendly against the Atlas Lionesses next month.

According to our sources, Cameroon that last played a competitive game in February last year against Nigeria in the Olympics qualifiers will face Morocco on April 8 in Casablanca.

The game will help the 2016 Womens Africa Cup of Nations AWCON runner-up prepare for their continental tournament qualifier match against Algeria while Morocco is using the game to prepare for the AWCON tournament they host next year.

The game against Morocco will be the first between both nations since Morocco beat Cameroon in another friendly in September 2021. It is an opportunity for Jean Baptiste Bisseck and his squad of players to right the wrongs of recent times and open a new chapter after the recent failures against Nigeria and Kenya that led to the country missing out on qualification for two tournaments within a month.

After the friendly, Cameroon will clash with Algeria in the second round of the 2026 Womens Africa Cup of Nations AWCON qualifiers in October.
